Collector’s orders-Commercial complexes and malls to be seized in the absence of parking area
All commercial complexes to have mandatory parking areas.
Collector Anandi has issued directives for seizing shopping malls and commercial complexes which do not have parking area. In a traffic management meeting on Tuesday, the Collector specified that parking space must be made in all commercial complexes in the absence of which all business must be stopped immediately. She issued strict directives to inspect all coaching centres, commercial buildings, shopping malls etc. at Hospital road, Durga Nursery road, Court circle etc. for parking provisions. If any of these are found without proper parking space, they must be seized immediately and business would be allowed only after relevant provision is made for parking.

She also specified that action must be taken if parking space has not been created as per the map of the constructed area. Parking zones have been constructed at Delhi Gate, SIERT hostel and Chandpole areas which will prove to be of great help. Discussions were also held regarding encroachments on roadsides, one-way traffic, traffic lights, garbage disposal, stray animals, cancelling licenses of vehicles creating pollution and proper monitoring of the centres connected with Abhay Command centre etc.
It was also discussed to keep a check on the licenses issued for autos and tempos. RTO department said that a proposal has been sent to the government for the same. Once the proposal is approved, steps will be taken to control the issuance of licenses for tempos. It was also proposed to have proper transportation services in rural areas and the importance of construction of bridges over rivers and nallahs was also specified.
