After the setback on the cleanliness ranking, administration has started getting into an overdrive against garbage. If citizens find that garbage containers in their area are not being cleaned then they can lodge a complaint over WhatsApp.

Giving out this information, UMC Commissioner, Siddharth Sihag, said that citizens need to lodge a complaint on WhatsApp No 83869-39243 if they find that garbage container in their area has not been cleaned. In case, post reporting, if the container is still not cleaned after 24 hours, then UMC will reward the complainant with Rs 100 and will take action against the errant staff.

It may be noted that Udaipur was ranked a lowly 310th in the national cleanliness ranking that was recently released. Post that a lot of questions were raised against cleanliness drive of municipal corporation. State Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria had gone on to state that garbage containers are not cleaned for over 10 days.

Good to see administration getting its act together on the cleanliness drive.
