There is no clarity on the authority over city’s landmark garden and the only zoo, Gulab Bagh. Even the local civic bodies are uncertain about the control over the garden.

Another episode of this disarray came into picture when Udaipur Municipal Corporation released a public notice for raising objection over construction in Gulab Bagh. Interestingly, however, Municipal Corporation does not have controlling ownership over the garden.

Rajni Dangi, Mayor of the city, ordered to stop the process immediately and asked for detail report over the matter.

As per the information, additional construction was requested by Waqf Board at Imliwale Baba’s Dargah situated in Gulab Bagh’s property from Municipal Corporation. The corporation quickly released a public notice seeking objections over the plea.

It may be noted that PWD has the ownership over Gulab Bagh but have no authority to give or deny permission of any construction.
