Sewage, garbage and all the other dirt is still falling into Ayad river. Despite the fact that administration had issued strict directives and even levied penalties on the sources responsible for contaminating the city’s very prominent water body, the river is still being polluted. Nallahs carrying waste are falling into Ayad river. Some of them are coming from public places and some from the colonies alongside the river.

When the water bodies start flowing into Udaisagar during good monsoons, the water joins the flow and contaminates Udaisagar as well. At many points, debris can be seen in the river bed which will flow into the river with the rain water. A penalty of 5000 has been raised on anyone polluting the river but public knows no fear.
Strict surveillance and action needs to be taken for keeping the water bodies clean else the tag of Venice of East may prove to be a myth soon.
