Online frauds have increased. Dealing with online crimes has become a great challenge for Udaipur police. To curb the issues of online crime, IG Binita Thakur started a cyber cell on divisonal level which will be conducted in the Abhay Command Centre in the premises of Municipal Corporation.
4 of the police employees have been appointed under SI Rekha Sharma. Since none of these are from technical background, they will be imparted training to hone their technical skills for which they will be sent out of Rajasthan as well. It is being expected that the cyber cell will bring down online crimes to some extent and will gradually be able to help the victims at a great speed.
The department has a few challenges, though.
What is actually happening is that the fraudsters are staying online over mobile all the time and keep calling their victims. Police is not able to trace these mobiles and online crimes have become a common happening wherein the government employees are targetted the most.
A cyber cell is already existing in Lake City but it takes care of other research issues as well. The divisional cyber cell will deal only with cyber crime issues and it is being hoped that the cyber crime issues will be curbed at the earliest.
