Urban Improvement Trust organized public hearing today at the UIT conference hall. The meeting started at 3:30 pm, an hour later then the proposed time.

A total of 32 cases were put up in the hearing, some of them were solved on the spot, whereas some were kept pending to be looked upon.

UdaipurTimes.com spoke to an applicant Kailash Acharya, resident of Pahada, University Road, who had come to put up his case in the public hearing.

“I have been requesting the authorities since the year 2000 to allot me the Patta, under RRG 531, for the land where my house is constructed; however, they say that, the land is owned by government so we cannot allot Patta” said Acharya.

He also said that, the Patta has already been allotted to a former police official in the year 2008, for a piece of land at the same place.

Acharya told UT, “If UIT says that the land is government owned then how the patta was allotted to an ex-policeman, even when he applied after me.”

When UT approached Secretary of UIT, he refused to talk on the matter.
