District Collector takes a Review Meeting for Elevated Road

The recently approved Elevated Road, proposed to be constructed between Court Circle to Udiyapol, is ready to take its real shape; the decision was taken in a review meeting held under headship of District Collector Vikas Bhalle. Enquiry for estimates of time and cost required for shifting of utility line is being forwarded to Urban Improvement Trust (UIT).

 

The recently approved Elevated Road, proposed to be constructed between Court Circle to Udiyapol, is ready to take its real shape; the decision was taken in a review meeting held under headship of District Collector Vikas Bhalle. Enquiry for estimates of time and cost required for shifting of utility line is being forwarded to Urban Improvement Trust (UIT).

Today, in the review meeting held at the conference hall of Collectorate, officials of various departments, including UIT, UMC, AVVNL and Traffic collectively discussed over managing traffic on alternate route. Entry for heavy vehicles would be restricted during construction period to reduce traffic congestion.

During construction of Elevated Road heavy vehicles would be diverted to Shashtri Circle and Durga Nursery Road, suggested Additional District Collector.

In the meeting, AVVNL has given an estimated expense of Rs. 4.94 Cr for shifting light cables and lamp posts, while an expected expense of Rs. 2.17 Cr was presented by BSNL, along with Rs. 18.46 Cr estimation from the Public Health Department. Further, Municipal Council pointed various Sewerage Channels, Hoardings and Street Lights being maintained by the council.

According to Additional District Collector, Yaseen Pathan expected outlay of all the departments have been received on the proposal, including Rs. 11.8 Cr estimated expense from Public Works Department to be incurred for shifting Blinkers Point of Surajpol, Delhigate, Shashtri Nagar and Court Circle.

Additional Regional Transport Officer added that around 1400 licenced Rickshaws, active on the proposed route will also be re-routed to alternate route, after discussions with Rickshaw Union.

Shifting of underground cables of various operators passing underneath the route will also be instructed to shift after consulting with the respective Tehsildar. In this regard, Anil Nepaliya, Executive Engineer of UIT is directed to coordinate with officials of L&T Company for preparing Revised DPR.
