Arrangements, planning and execution have reached its final phase as not even a week is left for the election which is on 1st Dec at city’s various polling booths.
Windows of the classrooms at Meera Girl’s College are sealed by erecting a corresponding wall as a part of security measures; the college is one of the election booths in the city.
Hundreds of Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) has been arrived at Railway Training School. The machines are thoroughly checked by the officials and will be kept under tight security till 30th Nov till it will be dispatched to the polling booths across Udaipur region.
Additional District Magistrate Narayan Singh Bhati informed that most of the polling booths are either government schools or community centers as both of the venues are easy to reach by the local residents residing nearby.
While talking about additional security measures, Bhati said that after election, the EVM machines will be kept at polling booths till the day of counting. Hence administration has took extra security measures to avoid any felony.
State Assembly elections are scheduled on Sunday 1st Dec 2013 and counting of the votes will be done after seven days i.e. on 8th Dec 2013 at Railway Training Ground.
