Elevated road project, the dream project for city traffic is expected to take its final form in another 2 years. Traffic in the city needs to be taken care of. For the betterment of traffic, the project of elevated roads that was stuck for 10 long years will get a final touch in next two years.

Obstructions on the path of this dream project have been taken care of. Tender process has begun under National Highway Board which will take 6 months to complete. Elevated road project will begin after tender process and will complete in the next one and a half year. The estimated budget is around 300 crore rupees for elevated road project. National Highway Board will acquire the lands of Waqf board, LIC and RNT medical College for this purpose with the assistance of administration.

NHAI have completed the formalities for the construction of elevated road from Udiapole to Court Circle. Approximate length of the road is 1 km 600 m. Route survey, rock testing, soil testing, map, design etc.formalities have been done for the elevated road and sent to Delhi office of NHAI Board.  It will 6 months to sign contract with the construction company. The construction company will be assigned 18 months to complete the project. It is expected that by December 2019, the elevated road will be ready for transportation.

Lands under acquisition are basically from the government quota. Governments agencies need to tie up with each other to complete the formalities of acquisitions.

The proposal for elevated roads had begun in 2007. Until 2014 it could not be decided whether elevated roads would be feasible or not. In the meanwhile, the elevated road project faced an opposition from the businessmen in the market area. The opposition stands as is even today.

UCCI President along with other businessmen from the proposed area for the elevated road wrote several letters protesting the elevation. As per their statement, the elevated road will prove to be a hindrance in their business.

Reports also say that traffic condition will improve due to elevated roads. During construction people might be forced to face traffic issues. After completion the elevated road will prove to be beneficial for the growing traffic in the city for years to come.
