Want to Get Your EPFO Money Within 24 Hours? Know the New Claim Rules
UdaipurTimes, Aug 7, 2026 | EPFO Government Updates: Employees' Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has good news for employees. After applying for withdrawal of money from your PF account, you will no longer have to wait. Rather, the money will be transferred to the customer's bank account faster than before.
The money will be transferred to the bank account on the same day or at most within two days. This was announced by EPFO's Central Provident Fund Commissioner (CPFC) Ramesh Krishnamurthy at an event in New Delhi. Even after doing the KYC process for so long, it usually took 7 to 10 working days to get PF money through online application. This new step of EPFO will naturally benefit crores of employees.
Ramesh Krishnamurthy said, 'It has been possible to settle almost all the applications that came. With the help of new technology, now in about 90 percent of cases, money is being settled through automatic or auto-settlement. We hope that in the coming days, most of the applications submitted by members will be settled on the same day or at most within 2 days."
Who will not get it within 24 hours?
Not everyone will be able to auto-claim within 24 hours. This facility will be available only to those PF subscribers who have completed their KYC, updated all the details of the PAN, bank. If there is any mistake or inconsistency in the submitted application, they will not get it.
PF Money in UPI
EPFO is not stopping at the quick settlement of empty applications. Krishnamurthy also said that the organization is going to launch the facility of PF withdrawal through the 'BHIM' app very soon. As a result, the PF money will be deposited directly in the UPI-linked bank accounts of the customers. In his words, 'The Union Minister had already indicated. This time we are on the way to start the application settlement process through the BHIM app. After applying, the money will go directly to the UPI-linked bank account. We hope that this new structure will be fully operational within the next one month.'
Will the interest rate increase?
Currently, the interest rate on PF deposits is 8.25 percent. Will it increase further? Ramesh Krishnamurthy did not want to clarify right away. He said, "It is not yet time to comment on the matter. On July 3, interest of about 1.44 lakh crore rupees was deposited in the accounts of more than 34 crore members of the country at the rate of 8.25 percent. This is a big success in the history of EPFO."
