Let it rain good news. Udaipur railway station with its changing looks is yet to have another facility to add to its smart city look.

Udaipur railway station will have an escalator very soon. For the old and aged, it is definitely a matter to cheer up as they will not need to walk the painful distances on the railway station from one platform to the other.  Work is speeding on for lifts and escalators for the benefit of all.

City railway station was supposed to have this facility almost a year back. But due to unavailability of machines, the work couldn’t start. Station Superintendent Sugan Chand Verma said that the work of fitting of escalator is being carried out. Lift work is almost complete. Very soon these will be made available for public. Arrangements are being made for platform 4 and 5 as well. Verma said that facilities are needed at every platform which will soon be carried out at a faster pace. A lift and escalator at the second entry are also a must.

Escalator work for platform 1 and lift for platform 2 and 3 is on. Seeing the growing number of passengers travelling by train, a foot over bridge(FOB) is also being constructed. This will be a great facility for the people going to platform 2.
