FASTag KYV Process to End for New Vehicles from Feb 1

KYV process will also not be a mandatory condition for FASTags already issued for cars, according to theNational Highway Authority of India

 |

Jan 2, 2025 - The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has decided that from February 1, the Know Your Vehicle (KYV) process will not be applicable for FASTags issued for new cars, jeeps, and vans. NHAI clarified that the KYV process will also not be a mandatory condition for FASTags already issued for cars.

This rule means vehicle owners with already active FASTags will not need to undergo KYV.

NHAI added that the KYV process may be applied only in cases of complaints related to loose FASTags, incorrectly issued tags or misuse.

KYV is a mandatory verification process for FASTag users, requiring owners to upload vehicle and Registration Certificate (RC) images to ensure the tag links to the correct vehicle, enforcing the "One Vehicle, One FASTag" rule and preventing misuse.
