Fateh Sagar now belongs to UIT

Water Resources Department has formally handed over the baton of Fateh Sagar to UIT and transferred ownernship of the lake. All the documents associated with the lake have also been passed on to UIT by the Water Resources Department.

With ownership in its yard, UIT will now be able to take strong actions against people who indulge in pollution of the lake and also strict measures can be taken against illegal constructions around the lake.

Susheel Mathur (SE) and Hemant Pandya completed the paper work formalities on behalf of the Water Resources department whereas UIT Secretary Ramnivas Mehta along with SE Reshma Ram Hooda took over the charge on behalf of UIT.

Fateh Sagar and land associated with it is now registered in name of UIT. Similar process is due for Lake Pichhola and will also be completed in some time. The approval for this is pending from Jaipur.

Though the ownership of Fateh Sagar has been transferred to UIT, monitoring of water during monsoon and opening of gates etc will continue to be responsibility of Water Resources Department. UIT will in return make payments to the department on basis of the services rendered.
