The squad of Urban Improvement Trust (UIT) Udaipur freed bottleneck near Pula at Fatehpura Circle, and demolished 3 pre-constructed houses for road widening process. The activity was implemented earlier today, where half a dozen earthmovers were deployed on the site.

Ram Niwas Mehta, Secretary, UIT, informed that this was one of the most rigid bottlenecks, which was pending from over a decade. The road was under high traffic pressure due to this bottleneck, where 4 houses were falling under road area.

Mehta further added that squad from UIT demolished 3 houses from the site, while observing formal procedures. The work is still incomplete as double story house is yet to be demolished. Officials are in conversation with the house owner.

The road starting from Fatehpura circle is 80 feet wide, whereas at bottleneck it shrinks to less than 30 feet. The congested part of road was one of the main reasons behind number of accidents occurred in past few years. After demolition, road will have its uniform width throughout the area, from which 2 transport vehicles can pass at a time.

Mehta also added that road construction has been initiated at site and will be completed within a week time.
