Rajasthan government has imposed a fine on the sale and use of fire crackers this Diwali season. It may be noted that the government had declared a ban on fireworks as the smoke caused due to fire crackers can be very deadly for the covid patients.
A notification was issued regarding monetary fine against fireworks. Any shopkeeper caught selling fire crackers will be penalised with 10,000 rupees and any individual found using fire crackers will be fined with 2000 rupees.
The poisonous smoke emitted by crackers can cause breathing issues and is also dangerous for those suffering with heart problems. It has also been appealed that people must understand the importance of the ban and show concern for the patients.
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot issued directives that he licenses of the fireworks dealers be temporarily banned. He also said that fireworks are not to be used even during weddings and other functions.
