Urban Improvement Trust (UIT) Udaipur, in past 48 hours demolished concrete construction from Goverdhan Vilas locality. It is one of the biggest road widening activities implemented by UIT in past 10 years. Now UIT is planning for Pula Bottleneck to be cleared in days to come.

Ram Niwas Mehta, Secretary, UIT informed, “Our next focus is on the bottleneck at Pula, where 3 houses are to be demolished. The road is one of the busiest and is connecting to National Highway-76. Officials are discussing with residents to agree upon settlement willingly, so that work can be completed speedily.”

In the drive at Goverdhan Vilas, 16 houses were demolished with help of JCB’s engaged over the site. All the affected families have been allotted plots in Transport Nagar, based on current valuation and size of houses.

Mehta added that all the families agreed to vacant their houses. It was also ensured that they have secondary houses before demolition.

Ram Niwas Mehta further added that demarcation for 100 feet wide road was also completed. Road construction will be initiated in this month.

After the phenomenal activity, biggest challenge was to timely clear site for further process. The challenge was successfully completed with help of 20 trucks, which moved out around 400 tons of debris within deadline of 24 hours.
