A vegetative experiment is taking place at the Collectorate’s office where organic vegetables are being grown without the use of flowerpot and mud.
A vegetative experiment is taking place at the Collectorate’s office where organic vegetables are being grown without the use of flowerpot and mud.
Vegetables such as brinjal, chili, ridge gourd, tomato, bitter gourd, cucumber and gourd are being brought from Pune on an experimentative purpose, kept in the garden and terrace of the collectorate’s office.
Collector Ashutosh A.T Pednekar informed that if this experiment is successful, this initiative will be carried forward. A workshop will also be organized on Saturday at Jila Parishad auditorium.
Under Harit Dhara Project of the administration, this innovative initiative has been implemented in the city for others to adopt organic plantation.
Garden consultant Subodh Lodha said that after their plantation, each plant will yield vegetables 9 times, which will be as a whole- organic.
It is to consider that the plants are grown in the mix of coconut fillings and Neem manure. In this process, a pot is not required less water is used, comparatively.
