Udaipur, Dec 27, 2025 - The Udaipur Nagar Nigam has so far collected Rs 7.85 crore in Urban Development (UD) Tax against a target of Rs 20 crore set for the current financial year thus reflecting a positive trend. Last year, only Rs 4 crore was collected until December, while more than Rs 14 crore was recovered during the final three months of the financial year.

According to official information, Rs 18.68 crore was collected in UD tax during the previous financial year of 2024-25.

Around 20,000 properties in Udaipur fall under the UD tax ambit. Hence, a significant increase in tax payments is expected between January and March this year as well. Achieving the set target is crucial to qualify for grants from the 15th Finance Commission.

Commissioner Abhishek Khanna said that many people wait until the last moment of the financial year to pay UD tax, which is not advisable. Timely payment allows taxpayers to avail discounts and notices will be issued based on pending dues.

This year, QR codes have been included in all property tax bills, enabling online payment and access to pending dues and updated information. Tax-related details are also available on the Rajasthan Municipal website.

For the first time, the Nagar Nigam has introduced an online suggestion and grievance submission system on its official website. Citizens facing any issues can now register complaints online.
