HZL-Vedanta to build 10,000 lavatories in Rural Udaipur

Vedanta Hindustan Zinc Limited, Zila Parishad, Udaipur and Financial INclusion Improves Sanitation and Health (FINISH) Society signed a trilateral agreement today to develop 10,000 lavatories in rural areas of Udaipur district.

Vedanta Hindustan Zinc Limited, Zila Parishad, Udaipur and Financial INclusion Improves Sanitation and Health (FINISH) Society signed a trilateral agreement today to develop 10,000 lavatories in rural areas of Udaipur district.

The agreement is a part of efforts that are being made to reach the target of sanitizing rural India by the year 2022 under ‘Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan’.

As per District Council, each toilet will cost Rs. 8000. Under the agreement, Hindustan Zinc will pay Rs. 2500 and District Council will contribute Rs. 4600 for the development of toilet while the beneficiary will have to pay only Rs. 900 for the facility.

Today, the aforementioned agreement was signed in the presence of District Collector Vikas S. Bhale; Zila Pramukh, Madhu Mehta; CO Zila Parishad, Abrar Ahmed; Head of HZL Zawar Mines, K.K.Dave, Head of Zinc Smelter Debari, H.K.Batra; Head of Matoon Mines, K.C.Meena; CSR Head Shushma Sharma and Director of FINISH Sadanand Bhave.

Pawan Kaushik, Associate VP (Corporate Communications) HZL, informed that District Council and Hindustan Zinc Limited will conduct weekly meetings to review and analyze the work for the proper implementation of the agreement.
