An illegally constructed building in Ashok Nagar was demolished on Tuesday. Reportedly, it took almost an hour and half for the team to take action as people grew aggressive against the demolition.

Teams from Municipal Corporation and Bhupalpura police patrol were present during this time. Sources say that owner of the building that was being demolished displayed extreme aggressive attitude, hence both administrative teams had to stay put for a long time. It was only after the arrival of CI on the site could the process of demolition be carried on.

Owner of the premises tried to stop the teams in action. His family members also tried to find an escape route saying that when there are too many illegal constructions in Shakti Nagar and Ashok Nagar, why their building is being targetted. To this the team said that they received complaints on portal regarding this illegal construction and the process is in action on the directions of Commissioner of Municipal Corporation.

For once the owner and his family agreed that they were going against rules and wanted to be excused for some time. The administrative team reminded them that they were notified even earlier but since rules were not followed the illegal construction will be destroyed.

The owner’s lawyer also tried a defensive action but could not succeed since the owner did not have documents to prove that he had permission for construction. Bhupalpura CI reached the spot and took action against the opposing parties. One of the opponents was even made to sit inside police jeep. Demolition process started at 2:41 p.m. and was over in 5 minutes.
