Interesting Projects Sanctioned in State Cabinet Meeting

Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje presided over a State level Cabinet Meeting yesterday at the Rajasthan College of Agriculture (RCA). Interestingly, a number of important decisions were taken at this meeting, mostly concentrating on the development of Udaipur and Rajasthan in general.

Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje presided over a State level Cabinet Meeting yesterday at the Rajasthan College of Agriculture (RCA). Interestingly, a number of important decisions were taken at this meeting, mostly concentrating on the development of Udaipur and Rajasthan in general.

Apparently, this meeting was a fitting culmination to the 10 day tour of the Chief Minister around rural areas im nearby districts within Udaipur division. More than 1lac complaints were received and registered during the 10 day Sarkar Aap Ke Dwaar Campaign. The CM has promised that necessary action will immediately be taken to resolve these complaints.

Rajendra Rathod, Health Minister, Government of Rajasthan, informed that ‘Sarkar Aap Ke Dwaar’ was an experimental program started by the State Ministry. This initiative will help in understanding public requirements in a better way.

In a media briefing held after the Cabinet Meeting, Rajendra Rathod unveiled all the decisions taken by State Government for development of State. Some of the important decisions taken during the meet are as follows:

1. Tenure of probation period on appointments of higher government officials has been reduced to 1 year from 2 years.

2. Pension amount for deceased state employees payable to his/her family has been revised to 50% of monthly pay; the same was 30% earlier.

3. Restriction on Mining in 29 Tribal areas has been lifted. This will provide employment to around 75000 tribals. A preference to tribal applicants would be given in providing mining licences.

4. A mega housing project would be initiated in this financial year; it will be started in rural parts of Udaipur.

5. 11 Bulk Milk coolers will be installed in Udaipur, for increasing milk availability in Lakecity.

6. The Ministry has also sanctioned Rs.189 Cr for development of Ahad River. The DPR (Detailed Project Report) has been approved and sent to Central Government.

7. Adventure tourism will be developed at Jaisamand. The project is expected to start in the current financial year. Apart from this, new projects for boosting tourism in Udaipur would be started as per requirement and possibilities.

8. Bagdora Crocodile reserve will be developed as new tourist spot, along with development of Goverdhan Sagar and Udai Sagar. A multi-functional telescope will be installed at Goverdhan Sagar.

9. Udaipur Municipal Corporation will be provided with 3 more De-Weeding machines. State Government would incur Rs.9 Cr for better cleaning of Lakes and other water bodies.

10. Meera Girls Government College Udaipur will be provided with a Hostel, which would be having an accommodation capacity of 200 Girls.

11. A convention centre will be started in Chitrakut Nagar, Udaipur under PPP (Public Private Partnership) format.
