A long awaited demand of Udaipurites for International flights from Maharana Pratap Airport may soon be fulfilled. Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Jayant Sinha gave indications towards the same in his address in Udaipur today.

Jayant Sinha was in Udaipur today for inaugurating the Digidhan Mela at Municipal Corporation Ground today. During his address today, Jayant Sinha announced that International flights could soon start from Maharana Pratap Airport, Udaipur. He mentioned that the international flights would start operations in 6 months. He made this announcement in reply to Chittorgarh MP C.P. Joshi’s query on the same. The first set of flights may most likely be to Middle-east countries.

With a significant number of Udaipurites in Middle-east and USA this would be a huge welcome. There is a also a large business community that travels internationally for business and has long been raising demand for international flights to operate from Udaipur Airport.

Currently international passengers from Udaipur travel either to Ahmedabad, Mumbai or New Delhi for their connecting flights.

Hopefully, the promise will soon be delivered.
