Administration warns: Don't pay heed to rumours; strict action will be taken
After the suspension of Mobile Internet Services (SIM based) across Udaipur at 10pm on 16 August, the services were resumed at 2pm on 21 August.
Mobile Internet Services were suspended following the stabbing incident in Udaipur where a 15 year old boy was stabbed, and after 3 days, breathed his last. The resultant tension in the city led the administration to impose Section 163 (erstwhile Sec 144) in the district and suspensing Mobile Internet Services. Leased line, broadband and land line linked internet services were functioning normally.
The administration has warned that since the services have begun after a 5 day period, users are advised not to pay heed to rumours or any disturbing news that may lead to chaos in the city or an unwanted law and order situation. The administration also warned of strict and swift action on those spreading rumours or social disharmony.
