Rumors floating around social media over the last three days, regarding Internet services being suspended during the Police Constable examinations between 6-8 November in Rajasthan have caused disturbance across Udaipur.  These rumors were discarded by Udaipur District Superintendent of Police Kailash Bishnoi today morning when UdaipurTimes connected with him for clarification.

His refuting the rumors was supported by a decision conveyed in the video conference of SPs and DGPs across the state, on Monday.  The communication post the meeting said that CCTV cameras will be installed across all centers during the examination and electronic equipment including mobile phones will be disallowed, a decision which was conveyed through a press note by Udaipur administration today evening.

The SP indicated that though Internet services willl not be suspended, mobile jammers were being considered. DGP ML Lather, in his communique to all the SPs and DGPs said that all precautions are being takenn to ensure a smooth and transparent examination process.

This seems to be a largely sane decision as compared to similar events earlier, when blanket internet suspension took place. In Unlock times, when more and more people are working from home as they are not allowed to travel or visit office, internet is as basis a necessity as bread and butter. Similarly, the entire schooling faternity is working online. Banks' transactions might mess up as well.
