UIT comes under CCTV Surveillance
Surveillance is getting beefed up at Urban Improvement Trust (UIT) Udaipur with installation of CCTV cameras. As of now, two cameras have been installed while 14 others are expected to be commissioned soon.
Surveillance is getting beefed up at Urban Improvement Trust (UIT) Udaipur with installation of CCTV cameras. As of now, two cameras have been installed while 14 others are expected to be commissioned soon.
One of the cameras has been installed at the entrance of UIT building while the other one has been installed in the main lobby. Monitoring of the cameras will be done from the chamber of UIT Secretary Ram Niwas Mehta.
Installation of CCTV cameras comes as part of equipping the trust with advanced technological aids. Ashutosh A.T Pednekar, District Collector, Udaipur, informed that a project to make UIT technologically advanced is underway where-in bar code reader, figure print scanner, retina scanner and other such products will be installed in near future.
Pednekar further added that apart from UIT premises, CCTV cameras will also be installed in various parts of city. City wide, around 600 spots have been identified for setting up cameras. Installation of 400 of these CCTV cameras would be initiated soon.
Pednekar also informed that monitoring of city wide cameras will be under Police department and is expected to help in crime control and traffic management.
