Udaipur has been selected as one of the 19 districts in Rajasthan that will have district hospitals equipped with In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) centers, to assist childless couples -as per information available from the Health Department.

As per information, the department has issued guidelines related to regulation, accreditation and supervision of Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) clinic under the public-private partnership for these new IVF Centers.  Proper interviewing, examination of couples, etc need to be carried out in strict privacy to maintain dignity of the patients. Further, in case a male doctor is examining a female patient, a female attendant needs to be presents – are few of the points specified in the guidelines.

Jaipur has albeit already signed a Memorandum of Understanding with a private clinic to develop such a facility at the Kanwatia Hospital.

Ajmer, Alwar, Baran, Barmer, Bharatpur, Bhilwara, Bikaner, Dholpur, Hanumangarh, Jhunjhunu, Jodhpur, Kota, Nagaur, Pali, Sawai Madhopur, Sikar and Sriganganagar are the other 17 districts where this facility has been planned.
