District Tourism Development Committee took some essential decisions to facilitate tourists in the city and to make the city clean and beautiful.

The meeting which was held under the direction of district collector came up with many innovative ideas including making Jagdish Chowk as no-parking zone, providing small auto rickshaw (TATA Magic) in old city area and providing bicycles.

Ashutosh Pednekar, district collector said, “To make the city attractive for tourists, it is necessary to keep it clean and organized including providing number of facilities to the tourists.”

Mayor Rajni Dangi suggested opening eating facilities to tourists after 10 at night. She directed the UMC Commissioner to search for a favorable place where the night food facility can be started.

Mayor Dangi asked commissioner and UIT secretary to increase facilities in all 19 tourists’ spots of the city.

Museums to be face lifted: District collector asked all concerned authorities to transform the conditions of Ahar Museum. He suggested that the Saraswati Library could be used as a museum to exhibit antique paintings. He added, “To provide a glance of such beautiful heritage, a separate museum can also be started.”

UMC has decided to purchase more bicycles which will be provided to tourists visiting Lake Fateh Sagar

In the beginning of meeting, Sumita Saroch, chief director of Tourism Department presented the report of decisions taken in previous meeting. All administrative officers including ADM City Mohammad Yaseen Pathan, UIT Secretary R.P Sharma, Hotel Association’s Subhash Ranawat, UIT Commissioner Himmat Singh Barhat and Ahar Museum Director Mubarak Hussain were present in the meeting.
