Kalika Patrolling Units Begin Ops in Bhilwara

A total of 12 teams, comprising of policewomen, have been allocated to the district; objective is to prevent incidents of eve-teasing and other unpleasant occurrences involving women and girls

Udaipur, January 29, 2025 - Kalika Patrolling Units, a major initiative launched by the State Government to provide a safe environment for women, have started operations in Bhilwara city. A total of 12 teams, comprising of policewomen, have been allocated to the district by the police headquarters. Each unit will also have four female police constables and their duties will be conducted in two shifts. Their activities will be monitored by the local Abhay Command Centre and the Police Control Room.

Yesterday, the Superintendent of Police (SP) briefed all members of the units before they left for their respective duty locations. The Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) was also present during the briefing. The police personnel were instructed to patrol around major schools, colleges, coaching centres and women's hostels. They were also told to establish contact with female students to address their concerns.

The main objective of the Kalika Patrolling Units is to prevent incidents of eve-teasing and other unpleasant occurrences involving women and girls. An awareness campaign has also been launched to educate the public, especially women, about immediately seeking help and filing complaints through the RajCop Citizen app developed by Rajasthan Police.

The SP has appealed to women and girls to immediately contact police assistance numbers 100, 112, 1090, or the Bhilwara Police Control Room helpline number 01482-232011 if they experience any crime or harassment. Alternatively, they can use the “Need Help” feature of the RajCop Citizen app to seek assistance from the Kalika Patrolling Unit.

The headquarters for the Kalika Patrolling Units have been assigned to various police stations in the district, including Kotwali, Pratap Nagar, Bhimganj, Subhash Nagar, Mandal, Mandalgarh, Gulabpura, Gangapur, Asind, Bijolia, Shahpura and Jahazpur.
