Kiran Maheshwari has written to S.M. Krishna, Union Foreign Minister, demanding the establishment of a Passport Office at Udaipur.

The MLA from Rajsamand, in her letter to the Union Foreign Minister stated that subsequent to the state Passport services being limited to Jodhpur Jurisdiction, the people of the Mewar-Vagad region are having major inconvenience.  The region is not connected directly to Jodhpur and bus services are insufficient too.

A large number of people from Mewar-Vagad are working outside India.  The numbers of applicants for passport, for Tourism, Business or other interests, are fairly high too in this region.  The service of applying from Post Offices has been discontinued too.  Frequent trips to Jodhpur become not only inconvenient but also tiresome and time consuming.
