District Collector Ashutosh A.T Pednekar issued strict orders on Tuesday to all petrol pump owners to not to provide petrol/diesel to two-wheeler riders who aren’t wearing helmets.

He informed that the 133 section of the criminal procedure code 1973 provides base for the proceedings. He pled to all the riders to wear helmets as the absence of the head gear in case of accidents can not only result in severe head injuries but also loss of life.

District Magistrate and Collector have issued this rule for promoting road safety and public interest. He said that the violators of the rule will be punished under section 188.
