Lottery for Municipal Corporation Seats Held
The lottery process for the local body election of Udaipur Municipal Corporation was organized today at Collectorate.
The lottery process for the local body election of Udaipur Municipal Corporation was organized today at Collectorate. The process was implemented on direction of Election Commission of India and was conducted by District Election Officer Ashutosh Pednekar.
Pednekar informed, “With the help of this lottery, all 55 wards of city are divided among various reserved categories Viz. ST (Scheduled Tribe), SC (Scheduled Caste) OBC (Other Backward Cast) and General. Out of which, total 6 seats are drawn in favor of ST (Contender), 3 seats are assigned for SC and 12 seats are kept for OBC. The remaining 34 is kept reserved for General category.”
Pednekar further informed that in each category, one third seats have been reserved for female candidates. The election would be held in November this year.
In the whole process, Administrative personals including District Collector Ashutosh Pednekar, Additional District Collector (Administration) Manveer Singh Atri and representatives of all major parties were present. The administration has restricted the entry of present Corporators (Parshad) during the process, due to safety reasons.
