Rajasthan Chief Secretary Makes a Case for Using MSS Plus Technique for Maintenance of Bitumen Roads
UdaipurTimes, Aug 7, 2026 | Rajasthan Government News: V Srinivas, the Chief Secretary, Government of Rajasthan, reviewed a meeting on the use of Modified Mix Seal Surfacing (MSSPlus) technique at a presentation during a meeting at New Delhi on August 7.
Satish Pandey, the Chief Scientist at CSIR-Central Road Research Institute (CRRI) and head of Flexible Pavement Division gave a comprehensive presentation on the MSS Plus technique in a meeting at the Secretariat in New Delhi. V Srinivas was participating in this meeting, where he assessed the technique and suggested on studying the feasibility and assessing the utility of this technique as per the prevalent environment in each state. Pandey added that this technique is apt for the maintenance of bitumen roads and also conducive to environment. He said that by using this technique, the upper most layers of bitumen roads are safe and sturdy. Use of this technique reduces the consumption of fuel and is a deterrant to carbon generation.
