Three IAS officers transferred out of Udaipur; Nagar Nigam gets new Commissioner
Udaipur, June 23, 2025 - In a major bureaucratic reshuffle late last night, the Rajasthan Government has transferred 62 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers. This includes eight Additional Chief Secretaries (ACSs) and 11 District Collectors. Apart from this, 21 IAS officers have been given additional charge of departments.
Among them, three officers posted in Udaipur have been transferred out, while two officers from outside have been posted to Udaipur.
Kanhiya Lal Swami, the Special Secretary of the Home Department, has been appointed as Commissioner of Tribal Area Development (TAD). In addition to this, he has also been given additional charge of Commissioner of Devasthan Department. Shakti Singh Rathore, the current TAD Commissioner, Udaipur, has been promoted and appointed as Divisional Commissioner of Ajmer,.
Ram Prakash, Commissioner of Udaipur Nagar Nigam, has been replaced by Abhishek Khanna who was CEO of the District Council in Ajmer. Ram Prakash has now been transferred to Ajmer in Khanna’s previous position.
Vasudev Malawat, who was serving as Commissioner of Devasthan Department, has been transferred and appointed as Director, ICDS Panchayati Raj, Jaipur.
Senior IAS officer Akhil Arora has been moved from Finance to the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) as ACS. ACS Home Anand Kumar has been transferred as ACS, Forest Department.
Bhaskar Atmaram Sawant has been given charge of Home as the new ACS while Vaibhav Galriya has been appointed Principal Secretary for Finance.
Alok Gupta, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, has been assigned the Industries Department. Ajitabh Sharma, who previously held that role, has been made the Principal Secretary for Energy.
This reshuffle is being seen as a significant step toward making governance more efficient, streamlined and accountable.
