RNT Medical College’s MB Hospital, Janana and Child Hospital in their ICUs are facing shortage of oxygen in the cylinders supplied to them since last 2 months. This oxygen is supplied to serious patients admitted in the ICU.

Dr. D.P Singh, Principal RNT College said, “Written complaint has been received. In the meeting, we gave a notice to the supplier. Even now that there is complaint, then we will talk to the superintendent. He will be advised to take strict actions.”

On the other hand, the supplier Sanjay Babu said, “I am presently out of station. Neither did I receive any notice regarding scarcity of oxygen in the cylinders nor do I have any information of it. I need to be acquainted only after which I can comment.”

On an average, a cylinder provides 6 hours of oxygen supply which has subsided to 3-4 hours only. The major number of complaints has come from Child Hospital. So far, no strict action has been taken by the MB Administration. After one meeting, the indifference was settled however, the shortage continued later.

Even the staff is facing problems as they have to change the cylinders frequently. Also, there is only one supplier of oxygen cylinders to the hospital.
