Progressively working towards providing medical and health amenities by RNT Medical College, its scion MB Hospital will soon have a multi-disciplinary research lab in its premises; the proposal of which has been sent to state government.

In this lab, prevailing issues of food, hygiene, environment and its effect on people, malaria due to malnutrition etc. will be researched with the help of technicians, staff, and technologically advanced machines. This will help to understand the root cause of diseases and provide effective treatment.

Dr. Shalabh Sharma informed that the central government will provide Rs. 5 Cr for which the state team will visit the medical center and based on this, will approve for the lab. Basic as well as advanced machines will be brought from this amount.

With the onset of the research lab following will be the advantages:

• Focus on regional problems/diseases will rise. RNT students will be able to research better.
• Apt treatment of non-communicable diseases will be able to evolve while listing the nature and response of the disease.
• The work of medical student and staff will improve.
• The lab will help build better health report of the state.
• Better research will be conducted for seasonal illnesses, increased diabetes cases and malnutrition etc.
