In a blessing for tourists, the route from Udaipur to Kumbalgarh fort is set to get a lot smoother and faster with construction of a mega highway. The highway has been proposed between Udaipur and Charbhuja and will pass through Kumbalgarh. Work is anticipated to start in December.Sampatraj Tank, Assistant Engineer, National Highway Authority, Pali, said that they have received survey reports from all places along the route barring two villages in Kumbalgarh. Once the survey reports are received from the two villages, the files will then be sent for clearances from all concerned authorities.

Post receipt of all clearances, tenders will be released and work will then begin. The mega highway is set to pass through 8 sub-divisional headquarters including Gadhbor, Kumbalgarh, Gogunda, Nathdwara, Khamnor, Badgaon, Mavli and Vallabhnagar.

The mega highway will run from Bhatewar to Charbhuja via Kelwara. After construction of the highway, travellers can directly take this highway from NH-8 and proceed towards Charbhuja.
