Udaipur received 63.32 percent voting (till 5 pm) in the Municipal Corporation Election 2014 which held today in 54 different wards.

Residents of Udaipur voted for 173 contestants who stood for the post of Local Corporator. The polling booths received less number of voters in the morning but as the day passed, the number gradually increased.

As per sources, till 1 pm, Udaipur received 41.02 votes, however the percentage increased later and 63.32 percent voting was recorded till 5 pm. The results are going to be declared on 25th Nov and the post of Mayor will be chosen on 26th and Deputy Mayor on 27th Nov. The positions will be given to the selected candidates who already won in general election.

Since the municipal election is directly linked to the common public and most of the candidates belong to the particular ward areas, it became more of a social than political event. People from all ages, castes and communities enthusiastically took part in the election process.

UT Photo Journalist Ayush Devpura grabbed some spectacular moments through his lens.
