Today, Dangi visited Chandpol area and responded to prolonged sewerage issues in the locality. She ordered related officials and contractors to increase the depth of sewerage chamber by 5 feet. Chamber will now be 10 feet deep so that waste moves smoothly in it.
Sources say that the problem became more intense when in 2006, Urban Improvement Trust had blocked the sewerage chamber in Grouting; because of which, cleaning, even with jetting machine, has become impossible. Also, over the years, solid waste including poly bags have intensified severity of blockage beneath.
A temporary cleaning of the chamber has been started. For a permanent solution, Dangi has given necessary directions stating a speedy work as the area is densely populated and bears high traffic pressure of locals and tourists.
