The Udaipur Municipal Corporation (UMC) is facing double appointment confusion, where Mahaveer Kharadi was posted as UMC Commissioner considering the post vacant, while the current UMC Commissioner is Himmat Singh Barath.

According to sources, State Government while passing transfer orders, mentioned post of UMC Commissioner as vacant and appointed Mahaveer Kharadi for the post.

The Present Commissioner, Himmat Singh Barath has refused to comment on the matter, though he added, “I am waiting for further instructions from Government over Transfer orders.”

It is to be noted that similar type of confusion happened few years ago when Dinesh Kothari took charge of UMC Commissioner, while M.L. Chouhan was the Commissioner of UMC.

The State Government of Rajasthan has issued transfer orders and shuffled RAS officers appointed in various departments across State.

In Urban Improvement Trust (UIT) Ram Niwas Mehta was to replace Dr. R.P Sharma for post of Secretary.
