Municipal Corporation Proposed its First Budget of Rs.213 Cr

The Mayor, Udaipur Municipal Corporation (UMC) presented budget of Rs.213 Cr for the session of 2014-15. It includes construction of Overhead Tank, Over Bridge along with a mini auditorium at Sector-5 and UMC Campus.

The Mayor, Udaipur Municipal Corporation (UMC) presented budget of Rs.213 Cr for the session of 2014-15. It includes construction of Overhead Tank, Over Bridge along with a mini auditorium at Sector-5 and UMC Campus.        

The proceedings of Budget was held under presidency of Rajni Dangi, Mayor earlier this afternoon. The budget came up with number of proposals for overall development of city.

The present board of 55 Corporators sanctioned a Mini Auditorium within UMC Campus, a detailed report for which will be brought up by respective Engineer shortly. Apart from this, another Auditorium is proposed to be constructed at Sector-5 later this year.

In other major sanctions, board has approved an overhead Tank at Avrimata to come with drinking water problems in nearby localities, which would be constructed this year.

Over Bridge starting from Surajpol Circle to Kumharo Ka Bhatta to facilitate smooth traffic flow during busy hours and traffic jam situation is also among proposed future projects. The Bridge will be 370 Meter long and 12 Meter wide.

The current budget is expected to have revenue receipts of around Rs.98 Cr over session 2014-15, which are higher by 30% when compared to past session of 2013-14.

The budget provision for other development works including Ayad River and a Amusement cum Entertainment Park at Gulab Bagh have also been kept under independent heads.

According to Mayor, “UMC is well aware about Code of Conduct for National Assembly Elections, so tenders for number of proposed projects will be announced in a short notice, which would help in timely completion of these development works.”
