Nagar Nigam Allows Offline Commercial Licence Applications

Commissioner Abhishek Khanna approves offline applications for commercial licenses and renewals, easing difficulties faced by small traders

Udaipur, Dec 13, 2025 - Udaipur Nagar Nigam Commissioner Abhishek Khanna has announced that offline applications will now also be accepted for commercial licences, renewals and other business-related permissions. This decision has come following a long-standing demand of the city’s retail traders for offline transactions because of the complexities of online processes.

The Commissioner on Friday (December 12) directed that any retail trader can now visit the Nagar Nigam and submit an offline application. He assured that the Nigam’s objective is to support traders and said that necessary improvements in the interest of traders will continue in the future. He emphasised that rules are not meant to become an obstacle.

A delegation of retail traders had met the Commissioner and apprised him of the problem small traders in the city face with conducting online processes because of the lack of technical knowledge of computers, etc. While applying online, they reportedly faced repeated technical issues such as problems uploading documents, portals not functioning on time and lack of cyber facilities. Acceptance of offline applications will now smoothen the process for them.
