In various beautification projects carried out by Udaipur Municipal Council (Nagar Parishad), idols of various prominent figures such as Meera, Vivekanand etc, will be installed at a number of places including Fatehsagar, Meera Girls College and Deen Dayal Upadhya Park at Doodh Talai.

Today, according to the information provided by an official of UMC on the project, installation would be done by the end of this month. He also shared that small idols which are already installed at Meera Girls College and Deen Dayal Park will be replaced with a relatively bigger ones.

According to Shishirkant Vasiney, XEN, UMC, statues of Meera Bai, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay and Swami Vivekanada are proposed to be established at Meera Girls College, Deen Dayal Park and Fatehsagar respectively.

Though Rajni Dangi, Chairperson, UMC informed that statue installation at Fatehsagar is not yet conformed due to some technical hindrances, but the decision of installation will be acted upon shortly.

Sources informed that Pankaj Borana, President of Student Union, on behalf of the university, has requested Council to establish Vivekananda’s idol at MLSU campus in front of the campus auditorium, which was recently named after the great saint.
