A new round-about is set to come up near Ayad bridge, opposite Anand Plaza. The statue of Vivekanand currently placed at the junction there will also be shifted.

UMC Commissioner Siddharth Sihag said that a round-about will be constructed opposite Anand Plaza to ease the traffic after the inauguration of additional bridge that has been constructed there.

Readers may note that UMC has recently constructed a bridge parallel to existing bridge at Ayad. This bridge has been constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 5 Cr.

Because of the construction of round-about, it will be required to shift the statue of Swami Vivekanand that is currently placed right opposite Anand Plaza. Towards that, UMC has solicited suggestions from Udaipur citizens on possible places for relocation. The suggestions need to be submitted in the next 2 days.

The inauguration of the new bridge at Ayad is expected to reduce the traffic bottleneck in that area and ease the traffic movement.
