Three New District Announced by CM Ashok Gehlot; total districts in Rajasthan now stand at 53

 Maplpura, Kuchaman and Sujangarh are the new districts announced by Rajasthan Chief Minister on 6 April.

 With the Code of Conduct in Rajasthan expected to be announced in the coming few days, the incumbent Congress Government is doing all it can in terms of populist and administrative measures in the lead up to the Rajasthan Assembly elections that are expected to be held in the coming weeks.

Three new districts, viz. Malpura, Sujangarh and Kuchaman were announced by the Rajasthan government early today, 6 October. This has increased the total districts in Rajasthan to 53. The last announcement of new districts was made in August this year, when the Chief Minister had announced the formation of 19 new districts and 3 new divisions. These initiatives aim to improve administrative efficiency and decentralised goernance for better local management and enhance governance at grassroot levels.

Kuchaman was part of the Didwana-Kuchaman district announced in August and this announcement separates the administration of Kuchaman from Didwana.

The elections for the state assembly are expected to be held in of before November this year as the tenure of the incumbent cabinet ends on 14 January 2024.
