Nigam to increase License Fees of Hotels-Restaurants after 17 Years Gap
Nagar Nigam is preparing to hike the license fees of all restaurants and hotels in the city, after almost 17 years of gap. Health Department’s proposal will be presented to the board on 12th May.

Post gazette notification, all the hotels, restaurants, bakery, sweet shops, paan shop and other food shops will have to pay the revised license fee under Sub-Rule 2014.
Health committee’s President Om Chittora said that with the increment in license fees, not only the income of Nigam will increase but also focus towards cleanliness and hygiene will become stringent.
Based on the category, the revised fees will be as follows (per year):
Star Hotels–
7 star: Rs. 1.50 Lac
5 star: Rs. 1 Lac
4 star: Rs. 75,000
3 star: Rs. 50,000
2 star: Rs. 25,000
1 star: Rs. 15,000
General Hotels, Guest Houses and Retreats-
With more than 20 rooms: Rs. 3100
Between 11 to 20 rooms: Rs. 2100
10 rooms: Rs. 1100
Dharmshala-
More than 20 rooms: Rs. 1000
Between 11 to 20 rooms: Rs. 750
10 rooms: Rs. 500
Restaurants, Dhabas & Small Hotels-
A: Rs. 15,000 (If both Veg & Non-Veg: Rs. 20,000)
B: Rs. 7500 (If both Veg & Non- Veg: Rs. 11,000)
C: Rs. 1000 (If both Veg & Non-Veg: Rs. 2000)
Food Truck: Rs. 2000
Grocery Store & others–
Grocery Store: Rs. 500
Ice factory, Bakery & Cold house: Rs. 2000
Dairy: Rs. Rs. 750 to 3000
Mineral water plant: Rs. 2000
Paan shop: Rs. 300
Food shop: Rs. 250
