Under the Low Carbon Mobility Plan, Udaipur has been included in the Smart City Scheme for which the collector Rohit Gupta held a meeting with traffic and other departments to move forward and take necessary actions in this regard.

He said that to control pollution in the city, all vehicles need to have the PUC certificate. From 1^st July, no vehicle will be allowed fuel if it is found without the ‘Pollution Under Control’ certificate. He also emphasized that there be arrangement of pollution control checks at petrol pumps and automobiles agency.

During the meeting, the issue of pre-paid system in transportation was also raised for which the collector asked traffic police to regulate proper implementation of the pre-paid system at railway station and bus stand.

RTO M.L Rawat said that there are 10 PUC centers in Udaipur and the vehicles which are found to be violating the rules will have to forgo their registration.
