No Traffic Respite to Udiapol even after UIT procures land

In order to construct a 100’ road from Udiapol CHauraha to Sector 3, Hiran Magri, the UIT had earlier procured 11000 sqft land from the Roadways Authority.  However, after many months of the takeover, the UIT has still not opened the road for the Roadways Buses to ply.

Illegal encroachments have already started in the land procured to construct the 100’ road.

Once the land was given to the UIT, the Roadways Authority had created an exit point for the buses coming from and going into the Bus Stand premises.  However, due to no action by the UIT on the alternate road, it has yet to open to the roadways vehicles.

Once this road is open, the regular traffic jam situation occurring at Udiapol circle will become redundant, as the busses will directly approach Udiapol circle from the Police Line road.

Rajendra Upadhyay, Chief Manager, Roadways Depot, Udaipur spoke to a leading daily and said “When the UIT has taken land from the Roadways with an intention to build a road, the block should be opened to allow traffic flow to and from the Roadways Depot.  Once this happens the recurring jam at the entry point of the Roadways depot will cease”
