No Vehicle Zone of Fatehsagar to be facilitated with Golf Carts

Udaipur Municipal Corporation (UMC) has announced the launching of golf carts, both at Fatehsagar and Gulab bagh. The facility will be available at Fatehsagar Pal from next week onwards; required electric carts have been recently transported to Udaipur by the respective contractor.

Udaipur Municipal Corporation (UMC) has announced the launching of golf carts, both at Fatehsagar and Gulab bagh. The facility will be available at Fatehsagar Pal from next week onwards; required electric carts have been recently transported to Udaipur by the respective contractor.

According to Satyanarayan Acharya, Commissioner UMC, the golf cart rides could be availed by tourists as well as localites, however the facility is not free of cost, interested ones will have to pay a nominal charge for the rides. Although the facility will be available at Fatehsagar from next week onwards, some ground work is still pending, like installation of booking counter and finalization of rate list.

Acharya further added, “The facility is initiated with the motto of reducing pollution in the area, there are a total of 6 golf carts initially at Fatehsagar Pal, while corporation is in process of launching the same service at Gulab bagh as well”.

Similar golf carts are in operation at Moti Magri (Pratap Smarak) from past couple of months. There are 2 carts there and one has to pay Rs. 100 for full round and Rs. 50 for half round of the hill garden.

According to Yudhveer Singh Shaktawat, Secretary Pratap Smarak Samiti, the facility is optional for visitors as one can use golf carts or can drive-in with his own vehicle. Shaktawat also added that initially the facility is operated by private undertaking, however if the service is financially and operationally feasible than it will be adopted by the Samiti and the number of carts will also be increased.
