The district collector Rohit Gupta and SP Rajendra Prasad Goyal held a meeting with the representatives of the Muslim community for proper security measures and peaceful arrangement during Muharram.

Collector highlighted the orders by the High Court and National Green Tribunal and asked for an alternative way of Tazia immersion so as to avoid lake pollution while maintaining the sanctity of the ritual. He mentioned that permission will not be granted to immerse any religious materials in the water bodies.

Community’s Sadar Khalil Ahmed along with other delegates gave their opinions in this matter which was agreed upon by all the present. Also, SP Goyal and Additional SP Dr. Rajesh Bhardwaj asked for cooperation for successful arrangement of procession in the city.

Also, special attention was made in concern to traffic management, shifting of wires and safety measures to be followed during the procession. The meeting was attended by Additional District Collector O.P Bunker, SDM Anil Sharma, Traffic DSP Rajaram, SE-AVVNL Purushottam Paliwal, other officials and representatives of the Muslim community.
