In order to keep a check on the pollution level in the city, it is important that the directives issued by the Supreme Court must be followed. The Collector instructed the police department to be strict with the measures against pollution and said that the patakha shops must be set up away from the residential areas. The temporary license shops for fire crackers must be set up in open grounds away from the colonies. General stores selling patakhas will be dealt with strictly.
As per orders by Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board, there will be a ban on bursting fire crackers on the night of Diwali between 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. It may be noted that the Supreme Court recently issued orders that fire crackers can be used only for 2 hours between 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
